Ebooks have been around almost as long as the Internet has been available to the public. Thousands of informational product books have been written and published in electronic format. Clickbank.com is an e-commerce platform that probably 90% of all ebook publishers use to sell and deliver their products directly to the buying public.
This post is not about how to write or publish an ebook. It is also not about how to create products of your own to sell online through Clickbank. Instead, it is a wakeup call to anyone that would like to make a fast buck off the hard work of others. Specifically, how can you go about cashing in on ebooks written by others. In a nutshell, here’s an overview of how to earn fast cash helping others sell their ebooks. I’ll give you a step-by-step outline of what to do. Not only that, I’ll tell you how you can launch your new fast cash enterprise for a grand total cash out-of-pocket cost of only $14.95 — less than the cost of 2 movie tickets.
- Go to Clickbank and begin a search of the Clickbank marketplace. Almost every product sold on or through Clickbank is an ebook or software, as all products sold through Clickbank have be delivered as digital products immediately after the sale. Thus, your search of the marketplace will be to screen products and find one you would like to sale.
- For your search, pick a subject you’re passionate about or holds your interest, preferably one that has a large audience. View the listings in the marketplace and only choose ebooks that have a huge commission payout — 50% or higher. This is another reason I’m recommending Clickbank merchants — they pay out big commission bucks.
- Narrow your search down to a merchant whose website (typically a long sales page) is done professionally, appealing to the eyes, well-written and does a great job of selling in your opinion. After all, if the salesletter doesn’t attract your attention and hold your interest enough to make you wish you had the book, chances are it won’t hold the interest for others. You want a salesletter (i.e., website) that will attract attention, hold interest and close the sale. After you’ve screened several of these you’ll begin to see they all pretty much use the same proven sales format.
- Once you have a product you would like to promote online, you’ll need to sign up for a free Clickbank account, because your commissions will be paid to you by Clickbank.
- Okay, now you have a product to promote and sell, all you need is a website to promote it and a Google Adwords account to drive traffic to your promotion site. First you’ll need to register a domain name that has to do with the same subject or genre as the ebook you’re promoting is aimed at. Go to http://www.costcutterdomains.com and set up a free domain name account. Then start searching for a domain name that includes the keyword or keyword phrase that you want to promote. Let’s say the ebook is about horses. You want a domain name with the word horses in it. The total cost for registering a domain name at CostCutterDomains is only $8.95 per year. Register the domain name for one year.
- Now you will need web hosting to host your domain name. I highly recommend hosting your domain name with HostGator.com. Hostgator costs only $7.95 per month for their “Baby” plan
if you buy 3 years of hosting, but I recommend if you’re on a shoestring budget you just opt for the $9.95 per month monthly payment plan. The “Baby” hosting plan allows you to host unlimited domain names. Thus, if your new Fast Cash Opportunity Plan works, the cost of hosting new domains to promote other ebooks will be zero! When your purchase web hosting from Host Gator they will send you a welcome email confirming your purchase and giving you details about what server your hosting account is located on. You will want to log back into your Costcutterdomains.com domain name account and choose “Manage Domains.” Then, select your new domain name and click on the icon labeled “Nameservers.” Then, choose the option “Custom Nameservers” and change the DNS for the name servers to point to your new Hostgator.com nameserver location. The DNS will begin with the two letters NS, followed by a number, a dot, and a domain name. Fill out each of the two slots for DNS nameservers. It will likely take up to 48 hours before you will be able to see your domain name online because the new server address has to fully propagate across all Internet servers around the world. - Your new hosting plan has many features. One of these is a blogging software program called “Wordpress.” You will need to install Wordpress to your root directory before building content for your site. I’ve created some good tutorials for installing Wordpress at eSalesman.com. Go there for specific info on how to create a Wordpress-operated website.
- Now that you have installed Wordpress, you want to write a sales page for your home page that will serve as a landing page. Remember, you will drive traffic to your site via a Google Adwords campaign. People will click on your ad, be sent to your landing page, then be persuaded by your sales text to visit your affiliate link to the product on Clickbank you’ll be promoting. This means that, (1) you need to know how to write content for landing pages, and (2) how to create a static home page for Wordpress. Before writing content for your landing page I highly recommend that you purchase a book on Amazon titled Landing Page Optimization: The Definitive Guide to Testing and Tuning for Conversions. You can buy the book by clicking on the link below.
- It is not essential that you read this book. But if you have the budget to do so, I highly recommend this as an optional expense because it will pay huge dividends for you in the long run in the form of more sales.
- When you write your landing page you will want it to permanently display as the home page of your blog. The latest versions of Wordpress now allow this feature without the use of a plugin. Inside the Wordpress Dashboard (control panel) click on “Options” menu item followed by “Reading.” Note there in the upper part of this page there is a section of the page that says “Front Page.” You have two options, one is “Your Latest Posts” and the second option is “A Static Page.” Select “A Static Page” and click on the dropdown underneath to select which page you want to be your home page. You will need to write or “Post” a “Page” first before you can select this option. Once you do write a page and select this option this particular content will always remain on your home page, unlike a normal blog post that rotates off the page eventually as each new article is posted. You want your landing page to stay on your home page because this is the page of content you will use to hook new prospects that “land” on the page after clicking on your Adwords ads and then forward them to the Clickbank merchant’s site you’re representing as an affiliate.
- On your landing page you will build site visitors interest in the product without creating too much text to bog them down. One reason for this is the sales page your Clickbank affiliate links will lead them to are already designed to close the sale and typically are very long themselves. So, you don’t want to burn your prospect out on reading before he ever has the opportunity to read the main sales page at the Clickbank merchant’s site.
- Once you have an Adwords campaign that is working successfully and returning a profit for you, duplicate this process adding one website and one new Clickbank product at a time. Continue to do this until you reach a level of income that meets your goals.
That’s all there is to it, in this simple 12-step plan for online business success. In addition to becoming an affiliate of Clickbank you might also consider being a Clickbank publisher and having your own ebook or software program you sell through Clickbank.
